Happy New Year! Hope you’ve enjoyed a lovely Christmas holiday and are forging ahead into the new year with renewed vitality. 2024 wrapped up with a continued balanced market here in the Cowichan Valley.
Things look promising in 2025 with increases in inventory, increased sales and a slight increase in the average sale price for a single-family home through the past year. The anticipated interest rate drops thru 2024 and a pent-up demand while potential buyers waited in the wings for them meant the year ended with better than anticipated results that should carry on into the new year despite uncertainty in the Canadian economy.
Average sale price for a single-family home in the Cowichan Valley remained fairly level throughout with our benchmark price currently at $762,800, down just one per cent from December 2023.
